Мигало солнце в мутной дымке, Sunrise was seen behind the knoll,
А я заштопывала дырки. While I was putting patch on hole.
Катилось солнце-закатилось, The sun had traveled to the west,
А я старалась, я трудилась. But I had worked without rest.
Осталось солнце где-то в прошлом. The sun was now in the past…
А дырок делалось все больше. Still, holes kept coming very fast.
А я все штопала и штопала... I patched and patched, I tried and tried
Гляжу - а жизнь-то я прошлепала. While real life was passing by.
