In Egypt land cried Jews in sorrow
Without hopes to see tomorrow.
But God came down from the sky
To mountain top of Har Sinai.
He called upon the Jewish souls
By giving them the sacred scrolls,
With ten commandments to accept
And Torah in the hearts be kept.

Five thousand years have been gone,
Events since then passed many to bemoan.
But we stay true to our faith and life tradition
In spite of Holocaust, pogroms and Inquisition.
