You need to sleep

Faint mist fades down.
Night wake demons up,
An angel who stole your crown
Lies beside, face closeup.

You wipe her sleeping tears,
Sigh, she’s as undreamt-of
As you’ve been imagining for years.
Seems like it surely is love.

All that matters, all you want
Is her smile, her being happy
But here again, her tears haunt,
Your naive dreams were way too sappy.

You, for whom she holds allure,
Is smart enough to understand
She will regret this night for sure,
But never gonna tell you that.

You sink in thoughts so deep,
You missed the moment she awakes
She smiles, says you need to sleep,
You close your eyes, and whisper: “don’t forsake”
